Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu (1,400 m)
Upon your arrival at Kathmandu, one of our representatives will pick you at the Tribhuvan International Airport. S/he will help you check-in at the hotel. You can explore the unique places of Kathmandu in the evening. You can visit the famous tourist hub of Thamel located at the heart of Kathmandu. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 02: Sightseeing Tour of Kathmandu Valley and preparation for the trek
After your breakfast, you’ll start the valley tour as well as prepare for the trek. A private vehicle and a tour guide will be arranged for you. You’ll be visiting the UNESCO listed World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu.
Kathmandu is a bustling city, so you’ll start early in order to experience a beautiful and peaceful valley tour. You’ll be visiting some of the religious places such as Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Swayambhunath, and many more. You can also try some of the delicious and unique Nepali foods and snacks.
Today, you’ll also prepare for the Langtang valley trek. You’ll be buying the required equipment and gear for the trek in Thamel. You can find lots of high-quality items there.
Day 03: Drive to Syabru Bensi (1,456 m) from Kathmandu
Drive duration: 7-8 hours
Drive distance: 122 km
After your breakfast, you’ll be heading towards Syabru Bensi (1,450 m) from Kathmandu early in the morning. Syabru Bensi is a beautiful town, providing you picturesque views of the Himalayan ranges, landscapes, and some snow-covered peaks.
As you leave Kathmandu valley, the road gets steeper high over the ridge and offers you the scenic views of Annapurna Himalayas in the west, to Ganesh Himal, Manaslu and the peaks of the Langtang region.
You’ll be driving along the riverbanks of Trishuli and beautiful terraced fields until you reach Dhunche. From Dhunche, you’ll descend for an hour and arrive at Syabru Bensi. Overnight stay in a guesthouse at Syabru Bensi.
Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel (2,480 m) from Syabru Bensi
Walking duration: 6-7 hours
Walking Distance: 10.9 km
On this day, you’ll start the trek from Syabru Bensi to Lama Hotel (2,480 m). Lama Hotel is a small area where you can find several basic types of teahouses.
The trail crosses the Bhote Koshi River through a suspension bridge. Then you’ll gradually ascend through the sub-tropical forests of Rhododendron and Oaks until you reach a small village called Bamboo. You might see some Langur monkeys, wild boars, red pandas, yellow-throated martens, Himalayan black bears, and yellow-throated martens.
After some rest and food at Bamboo, you’ll continue the trek. The trail ascends towards a place called Rimche (2400m) and after a short walk, you’ll reach Lama Hotel. Overnight stay in a teahouse at Lama Hotel.
Day 05: Trek towards Langtang village (3,540 m) from Lama Hotel
Walking duration: 4-5 hours
Walking Distance: 15 km
On this day, you’ll be trekking from Lama Hotel to Langtang village (3,540 m). Langtang village is a beautiful village surrounded by stone walls around the valley with beautiful landscapes and Langtang river below.
After breakfast, you’ll continue the trek with a gradual ascend through the dense forest of Oaks, Maples, and Rhododendrons until you reach Ghora Tabela (3,000 m). You can witness Mt. Langtang Lirung (7,244 m) and other snow-capped peaks.
After reaching Ghora Tabela and some food, you’ll continue the trek with a gentle ascend as the valley widens while passing through some temporary settlements used by herders. You’ll then arrive at the U-shaped glacial as you walk through yak pastures, rhododendron forests, and scattered Tamang settlements.
Soon, you will reach the beautiful Langtang village after crossing several prayers wheels, streams and watermills. You’ll see yaks brushing everywhere throughout the fields. Overnight stay in a lodge at Langtang village.
Day 06: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,900 m) from Langtang village
Walking duration: 3 hours
Walking Distance: About 7 km
Today, you’ll be trekking through easy trails from Langtang village to Kyanjin Gompa (3,900 m). Kyanjin Gompa is a small and beautiful village, where you can see the mesmerizing views of Langtang Ri (7,205 m), Mt Langtang Lirung (7,227 m), and Dorje Lakpa (6,966 m).
The trek continues with a gentle ascend until you reach a ridge topped by a large stupa of Mundu (3,543 m). Then the trail gradually climbs through yak pastures as the valley widens and the views become priceless.
After you pass through several small settlements and streams, you’ll reach Kyanjin Gompa. Upon your arrival at Kyanjin Gompa, you can visit the famous Cheese factory for some cheese tasting and also visit the religious monasteries in the region as you have lots of time to spare. Overnight stay in a lodge at Kyanjin Gompa.
Day 07: Trek to Tsergo Ri (4,985 m) and back to Kyanjin Gompa or Exploration day at Kyanjin Gompa
Walking duration: 4-5 hours
Walking Distance: 8 km
Early in the morning, you’ll start the trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Tsergo Ri (4,985 m). Tsergo Ri is the highest settlement in the Langtang region, providing you with mesmerizing views of Langtang Himalayan range and snow-covered peaks such as Langtang Ri (7,205 m), Langtang Lirung (7,227 m), and many more.
You also have the option to extend the trek by exploring Kyanjin Gompa. If you are wanting it, you can explore the lifestyle and traditions of the people living in the area. You can also relax and enjoy the peaceful environment of Kyanjin Gompa.
After enjoying your time at Tsergo Ri, you’ll take the same route from Tsergo Ri to reach Kyanjin Gompa. Overnight stay in the same lodge at Kyanjin Gompa.
Day 08: Trek back to Lama Hotel (2,480 m) from Kyanjin Gompa
Walking duration: 7 hours
Walking Distance: 22 km
On this day, you’ll Trek back to Lama Hotel (2,480 m) from Kyanjin Gompa. You’ll be descending back towards Rimiche. Rimiche is a small village after Lama hotel.
After a long walk, you’ll finally reach Lama hotel. Overnight stay in a teahouse at Lama Hotel.
Day 09: Trek to Syabru Bensi (1,456 m) from Lama Hotel
Walking duration: 4-5 hours
Walking Distance: About 11 km
Today, you’ll be trekking back towards Syabru Bensi (1,456 m) from Lama Hotel. After crossing the several villages and a suspension bridge of Bhote Koshi River, you’ll reach Syabru Bensi. Overnight stay in a guesthouse at Syabru Bensi.
Day 10: Drive back to Kathmandu (1,400 m) from Syabru Bensi
Drive duration: 7-8 hours
Drive distance: 122 km
After early morning breakfast, you’ll be heading towards Kathmandu (1,400 m) from Syabru Bensi. After you reach Kathmandu, you can enjoy your remaining time by shopping and having fun at the nightlife of Thamel. Overnight stay in a hotel at Kathmandu.
Day 11: Drive to the Tribhuvan International Airport for Departure
Today after a delicious breakfast, you’ll take a flight towards your home country. Our repetitive will be leaving you till Tribhuvan International Airport in a private van.
