The Gokyo valley Trek is a travel adventure taking the tourists to the Gokyo Valley of Everest region which is the home of the highest hill of the world Gokyo Ri and several Himalayan glacier lakes collectively known as Gokyo Lakes.Gokyo is a Sherpa village that lies besides the largest of these lakes. From Gokyo we climb to Gokyo Ri (5360m) for a heart stopping view over Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu and Makalu, Cholatse and Taboche.
As Everest Base Camp Trek has Kala Patthar at an elevation of 5545m , Gokyo Valley Trek has Gokyo Ri at an elevation of 5360m on the north side of Dudh Pokhari which is an epic vantage point , offering the kind of view over Everest that is normally reserved for balloonists or mountaineers.
The travelers take the air-flight of lukla airport followed by trekking to Namche bazar till Phakding. The main highlighted feature of the Gokyo Valley is its location which is a magical place that is residing in the foothills of Himalayas and is full of blue glacier lakes dominated by Himalayas of Mount Makalu, Mount Lhotse, Mount Cho-Oyu and Mount Everest in a single line.
