Island peak is an alluring peak that lies in between the peaks of Ama Dablam and Lhotse on the top of Chukung glacier. Island Peak is a beautiful mountain peak in the Everest region of the Himalaya which towers 6,189 meters above sea level. island is also known as Imja Tse by locals of himalayas, Located in the  everest region of eastern Nepal. Island Peak climbing is perfect for adventure lovers, enthusiasts of energetic and challenging treks.  Standing at the maximum altitude of 6,160m, from here we get the most stunning view of Everest and other eastern Himalaya.

The best time for venturing this adventure are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). It is feasible to climb even in winter months but not everyone has high threshold for cold. so, these months are suitable in every sense.

After you arrive in Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA), one of representatives from eagle eye trek will gently receive you and drive you to your hotel through private car. Once you check-in, we will brief the trip .remaining time,you can do as per your wish either explore to the city on your own, or, take a comfy rest at the hotel.

On second day, we’ll board a flight to Lukla from TIA. You will be able to rejoice the sight of splendid hills, rivers and mountains during the 35 minutes long flight. On reaching Lukla airport, you’ll be introduced to your porter, and served a wholesome breakfast. After that, we will head north to Phakding. It is an easy 3 hour hike through the Dudhkoshi valley. We will carry on our mount to reach the beautiful tribal village of Phakding where you will stay overnight.

Accommodation: Namche Bazaar

After breakfast at Phakding, we will trek along a pine forest to Monjo. From here we will move to Namche Bazaar. It is the gateway to the Sagarmatha National Park. On the way, we will approach the Park entrance. We will descend the Dudh Koshi, Bhote Koshi river en route to Jorsale. Namche Bazaar is the set destination for today and it is a popular Sherpa village. After a short hike, you will be witnessing the magnificent Mount Everest. This is after a short hike after you cross the bridge. The hike will continue from here until you reach the bazaar. You can enjoy the rest of the day exploring the culture of the locals and enjoying the local cuisines at Namche Bazaar.

on this day, we will rest for proper acclimization.Adaptation to harsh geography and high altitude is vital before further continuing the ascent to avoid altitude sickness and other unwelcomed illness. You’ll be taken for a one day hike through the beautiful villages of Khunde and Khumjung. After getting back at Everest view hotel, you can go to look at the giant skull of so called mystical creature “Yeti”, in a monastery in the region. You can also savor at a bakery at world’s highest altitude. On a fairly clear day, you can view breathtaking view of peaks such as Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam among others. The view of mountains from Everest View Hotel, is also commendable. After a nourishing breakfast at hotel, we will endeavor an hour long climb to the Syangboche airstrip (3790m), from where we will steadily ascend towards Khundu. On your way up, you can see century’s old Chorten (stone Buddhist monuments). From there, we will move eastwards to Khumjung, the largest settlement in whole Khumbu region, at the lap of holy peak of Khumbila. After savoring lunch at Khumjung, we will trail a slow climb to Everest View Hotel, from where you can again enjoy the view of Himalayans. overnight in Namche.

Accommodation: Tengboche

A short hike will take us to a ridge. From here you will be heading towards Kyangjuma. From here you will descend passing the longest Mani wall. This is also one of the most picturesque sites in the region. From Sanasa, a steep climb will trek you to Tengboche monastery. Tengboche, one of the most beautiful places in the Everest Region, is our destination today. You will witness breathtaking views of the Himalayas, the Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Kwangde. The Tengboche monastery which is one of the oldest Buddhist monasteries is worth exploring.overnight at tengboche.

Accommodation: at Dingboche

We will start our hike from Tengboche along the two gorgeous mountains Ama Dablam and Kantega. Apart from the local houses and people, you will notice an array of Chortens. We will trek through this route and cross the Ijma Khola and reach Pangboche. After you cross the village with the big Mani Stupa, you will now walk moderately. This wall is all the way to Dingboche. This place is a quaint Sherpa village, here you can view the mountains Lhotse, Island Peak and Ama Dablam.

Walking Hours: Rest day

Accommodation: Dingboche

acclimatization and rest. Here you will feel the change in the altitude and will feel the need to acclimatize before you head on with your journey. With clear wheather, you will get to see the Ama Dablam mountain. You can walk through the village and take short walks or get some rest.

Max altitude:4720m

Walking Hours: 6 -7 hours

Accommodation: chukung

We will head to the eastern side, gently uphill. It winds across the moraine from the Lhotse glacier. After trekking for around 3 hours, we will reach Chukung which is also known as the hidden valley. It lies in the base of the Island Peak. We will rest for the day on reaching Chukung and prepare for the big day tomorrow.

Max altitude: 5200m

Walking Hours: 5-6 hours

Accommodation: base camp ( on tent )

After making necessary preparations for the climbing, we will climb on to high camp from where we start our climb. At first, the path is handy, but from there, the path then turns green and then boulder strewn. We will begin the pre-climbing trekking after breakfast. We will get to know our climbing boots, ice axe, crampons and harnesses. The training for island peak climbing will prepare and boost you for the climb next day. We will spend the night in base camp.

climbing & Walking Hours:6-7 hours

Accommodation: Chhukung

We will be starting early today. At around 1 -2 am we will start our trek. Today’s trek is a bit challenging yet driving. To be on top of 6189m is definitely challenging. It will take around 2 hours to reach the high camp that is followed by a rocky gully. The view of the mountains from the peak is spectacular. Mt. Lhotse 8501m, Lhotse Middle Peak 8410m, Lhotse Shar 8383m, Mt. Baruntse 7129m, Mt. Makalu 8475m, Mt. Nuptse 7879m, and other high peaks.

We will retrace back to the Island Peak Base Camp and then all the way to Chhukung where we will rest for the night.

Max altitude: 3985 M

Walking Hours: 6-7 hours

Accommodation: Phortse village

Today’s trek will be much easier as we will go downhill to lower altitude. We will follow the same route along the Khumbu Khola and pass through the beautiful Sherpa villages of Orsho and Shomare. We can still enjoy the beautiful views of the Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kangtaiga, and Imja Tse river flowing.

Walking Hours: 7-8 hours

Accommodation: Namche Bazzar

After about 7 hours of walk today we will get back to the same bazaar that we started our journey in, Namche. Take your time to relax and enjoy the facilities that you have missed so far.

Walking hour: 6-7 hours

Accomodation: Lukla

Today is the last day of your trek. You will leave Namche after breakfast, like every other day. The trek passes through Phakding unless you reach Lukla. You will pass through the same scenery as before, but this time it may seem a lot different to you. After a 45 minute hike, you will reach Lukla where you will stay for the night. Please take your time to enjoy the memories you made, celebrate and rejoice your triumph

Accomodation: Kathmandu

Early morning air trip from Lukla to Kathmandu, back to your hotel. (Day 12) Early morning, we will catch a plane from Lukla to Kathmandu. Don’t forget to pick a seat on the right side, to see the insatiable mountains again. On reaching Kathmandu, you will be transfered back to your hotel in by our representative. in the evening we will have farewell dinner at thamel.

Our representative will drop you to airport at your schdule flight time. if you have other few days in nepal you can join other trip with eagle eye trek or enjoy on your own.
