This journey of 4 days Poon Hill trek starts with a scenic drive from Pokhara to Nayapul. You will then trek up to Hile for about 4 hours. The next day in the morning you will prepare for the trek to Ghorepani.

During this trek, you will get a wonderful opportunity to experience the stunning up-close view of the Annapurna ranges. This route also has access to some of the popular treks like the Annapurna Base camp trek.

After a quick breakfast at Pokhara, you will take a 42 km drive to Nayapul via Lumle village. Nayapul is the famous starting point of many popular treks in the Annapurna region.

From here in about a 20 minutes walk you will proceed up to Birethanti. The trails then take you through bamboo forests, large waterfall and rivers take you to Ramghat. Here you will stop for lunch.

After the short break and delicious lunch, you will take a gradual climb along the trail up, by the side of the valley. With this, you will reach Hile where you will stay overnight.

Max elevation: 2750m

Trek Duration: 4-5 hrs

From Hile, you will cross a stream on a suspension bridge near the campsite. Then you will ascend a steep stone staircase of about 3300 steps to a large Magar village of Ulleri at 2080m.

From the village, the trail climbs gently through pastures and cultivated fields taking you to the campsite for rest after hours of walk. The trail then crosses two sparkling streams before making a short final climb to Nangethanti where you will stop the lunch.

From here you will climb to Ghorepani at 2850m. Here you will witness the amazing sight of Dhaulagiri, Tukuche Nilgiri, Annapurna I, Hiunchuli etc.

Overnight stay at Ghorepani village.

This day will be the most exciting day of your 4 days Poon hill trek. An early morning climb along the steep trail will lead you to the viewpoint in Poon Hill. Here you will get an opportunity to witness the sun rays glistening over the magnificent mountains.

Poon Hill is one of the most popular trekking destinations in the Annapurna Region. This popular trek offers an up-close view of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. It is a perfect spot for capturing breathtaking pictures of the high mountains in the backdrop.

Breakfast awaits as you follow the trail back to Ghorepani. You will then head east climbing a nearby ridge.

Further, you will descend through the rhododendron forests and pass by spectacular waterfalls. Finally, you will reach Tadapani after around 6-7 hours of walk. Here you will rest for the night.

Trek duration:7 hrs

Today you will take a steep descent through the dense, shady forest of old rhododendron trees.

Few hours of the trek will lead you to the entrance of the Ghandruk village, a slope settlement with stone houses. This is a Gurung village. The local and the environment of the place says a lot of the inhabitants.

This village is an ideal place for enjoying and observing the culture and tradition of the Gurung people at the Gurung Museum.

The descend from Ghandruk to Nayapul starts after breakfast. From here the trek downhill to Birethanti will consist of picturesque images of the mountain peaks in the backdrop. Along with green hills and forests at the foreground.

Further, you will pass along the staircase paved with stone slabs curving in and out of the village. The trials will then take you to the terraced farms till you reach the Modi Khola river valley.

It is half an hour walk from the Birethanti to Nayapul from where you will take an hour-long drive back to Pokhara.
